Watch Your Favorite TV Shows - Anywhere!

I really love technology - as anyone who knows me will attest....and I also love to share new cool stuff.
If you haven't already heard of Slingbox - you have now. I waited until the Mac version of the player was released to share this info - and I'm happy to say as of October 31st it has arrived!

The Slingbox provides a way for you to watch your television anywhere you have an internet connection. When I say your television I mean it. Your Tivo, DVR, DVD Player - you name it. There are three versions of the box and all work the same - some just have more/varied inputs.

The Slingbox itself connects to the video output of any of these systems and loops back - so you don't lose your real television input. The box then converts the video and audio into a "streamable" format that you can view on your computer. You also have complete control over your remote control functions and anything else you can do with your remote - in fact the interface remote is a replica of your remote (the pictures below are screen captures off my computer screen running my Time Warner DVR with Slingbox).

This is a very cool product and the quality, while not quite as good as my HD television at home - is pretty damn good. The real beauty of this system is in its ability to let you watch your local stations, Tivo, DVR or even schedule recordings from anywhere in the world! My friend - producer Carey Borth, is helping out during a LIVE Halloweeen show featuring Mark Borchardt of "American Movie" fame. The show will air live on the G4 channel tomorrow night...Below are the details:

HALLOWEEN: LIVE FROM WISCONSIN*

THE DETAILS
Mark and Mike from "American Movie" fame will be hosting Halloween from their lawn in Menomonee Falls, WI! They will be grilling out polish sausages, talking with locals, dealing with zombies, and at the same time, trying to create the first ever 5 minute live horror film!*

You are going to be on live TV!!! Be prepared! Be excited! Be ready!!

The date: Tuesday, October 31
The Time: 6:30pm– 10:00pm LIVE!*

The location: The House

Menomonee Falls, WI 53051

Parking: The actual block that the house is on will be closed off to traffic, but parking is available on any of the adjacent streets! DJ's Bar & Grill and Karl's Country Market are also approved parking locations.

The cost: Free!

Food: Mark and Mike will be handing out polish sausages to the crowd.

Requests: Please dress in costume! If you would like to be a zombie in Mark's live movie, please dress as a zombie!!

Wanna Get Published?

If you are an amateur "photog" who thinks their stuff is pretty good - why not get it published. I found a site called JPG magazine that will take your best photographs and publish them.

JPG takes online photo submissions and then chooses from those submitted for each new issue. The issues are grouped by themes and the published photos are chosen by the magazine staff, you and other photographer's votes.

Even if you don't make it into an issue - your photographs are posted on their site for others to view, admire, critique or get inspiration!
